Giovanni Bardi (Bass) (Cagliari 1878? - Havana 1918)


He studied singing at Milan under Carlo Schneider and made his debut in 1905 at the Teatro Sociale of Monza as Angelotti in ''Tosca''. He had a successful career at the famous opera houses in the Italian province. In 1911 he sang at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome as Ramphis in Verdi’s ‘’Aida’’. In 1914 he again appeared there as Baldassare in ''Favorita'' of Donizetti, Cieco in Mascagni's ''Iris'' and Aldobrandini in ''Parisina'' of the same composer. In the 1905-06 he appeared at Piacenza in the Italian première of the opera ''Nadeya'' of Rossi and as Colline in ''Boheme''. In the 1907-1908 season he was to be heard at the Teatro Regio in Parma, where he sang in ''Rose Rosse''  of Brizzi and in Mascagni's opera ''Amica'' (opposite Tina Poli-Randaccio and Emanuele Ischierdo). In the 1916-18 seasons he was engaged by the Teatro Nazionale of Havana.
