Laure Bergé (Soprano)





She made her debut at the age of 19, in 1911 as Siebel in Gounod’s ‘’Faust’’ at the Opera House of Bayonne. After engagements at the opera houses of Bordeaux, Algiers and Lyon, she was appointed in 1919 to the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, where she remained till 1927, and where she had a very successful career. She appeared in ‘’Fidelio’’, ‘’Tannhäuser’’,’’Lohengrin’’, ‘’Parsifal’’, ‘’Walkure’’, also in ‘’Siegfried’’, ‘’Les Huguenots’’ ‘’La Juive’’, ‘’Sapho’’, ’’Hérodiade’’ etc.  In 1919  she made guest appearances at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and also in Italy.
